District Grants Awarded 2023-24

A list of District Grants awarded to clubs in the year 2023-24, showing some of the activities clubs can get Foundation support for.


District grants fund small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in your community and communities abroad

Over £20,000 was awarded to clubs by way of District Grants in 2023-24 for a variety of projects in local communities and further afield. You can see the wide scope of these projects below.

  • Rotary Club of Ayr: support for youngsters using Shred Skatepark £1,000; underprivileged families, £1,000
  • Rotary Club of Braids: cook houses for schools on the island of Ukerewe in Tanzania, £1,500
  • Rotary Club of Castle Douglas: ‘Go Wilds’ camps, £250: sensory play equipment, £930
  • Rotary Club of Clydebank: sponsorship of students at the Technical College and Training Workshop in Ndola through Mechanics for Africa, £1,000
  • Rotary Club of Coatbridge, Airdrie & Monklands: community dinner, £525
  • Rotary Club of Currie Balerno: Community Chest, £750; foodbank support, £750
  • Rotary Club of Dalkeith: support for after school club, Newbattle Parish Church, £500
  • Rotary Club of Dumfries Devorgilla with the Rotary Clubs of Annan, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie and Dumfries: support for Sports Driving Unlimited, £1240
  • Rotary Club of Eastwood: support for cooking and English classes at Clarkston Ukrainian Hub, £1,000
  • Rotary Club of Edinburgh: Christmas parcels and vouchers for those in need, £675
  • Rotary Club of Grangemouth: medical equipment for Strathcarron Hospice, £750; refurbishment of sensory studio at CHAS Rachel House, £750
  • Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Traquair: solar lighting at Thondwe primary school, £1,500
  • Rotary Club of Kilsyth: community café at Kilsyth Academy, £250; planting fruit trees in the community, £660
  • Rotary Club of Kirkcudbright: upgrading of Tongland path, £450; equipment for Kyengera  Hospital, Kampala, £750; tree planting at Compston Bridge, £357
  • Rotary Club of Linlithgow Grange: equipment for community shed, £1275
  • Rotary Club of North Berwick: purchase of purple crocus corms, £88; support for students on overseas project, £350; French dictionaries for P7 leavers, £192
  • Rotary Club of Portobello: support for children’s visual health project in Mexico, £1,125
  • Southern Scotland Hub: development of self-care in Ukrainian young people, £600
  • Rotary Clubs of Whitburn and Livingston: support for children to attend Sadasarana Pre-school in Colombo, Sri Lanka, £525
