A list of District Grants awarded to clubs in the year, showing some of the activities clubs can get Foundation support for.


District Grants 2024-25

District Grants fund small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in the local community and overseas.

In 2024-25, over £18,000 was awarded to Clubs in District Grants from the Rotary Foundation. This list shows the wide range of projects supported.

District Grants 2024-25

    • Rotary Club of Allander: fruit trees and solar powered pumps for Ibuluma school and community, Malawi, £1,045.
    • Rotary Club of Ayr: support for youngsters using Shred Skatepark, £520; support for underprivileged families through Newton Primary School, £520.
    • Borderlands Passport Group: collection, sorting and transport of pre-used spectacles for those in need in the Philippines, £490.
    • Rotary Club of Braids: equipment for Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh, £345; water tank for the Sunflower Sanctuary for people with autism and disabilities in Jinja, Uganda, £345; outdoor furniture and equipment for Rachel House Children's Hospice, £345.
    • Rotary Club of Clydebank: support for Golden Friendships, a large community organisation which supports social inclusion through entertainment and events, £695.
    • Rotary Club of Coatbridge, Airdrie and Monklands: support for a community Dinner and entertainment for those who are alone at Christmas, £485.
    • Rotary Club of Currie Balerno: support for disadvantaged young people from Wester Hailes Education Centre through nature-based education, £520; support for a food bank which assists disadvantaged families in Edinburgh, £520.
    • Rotary Club of Dalkeith:  building materials to erect a childcare facility in Blantyre, Malawi, £1,045.
    • Rotary Club of Eastwood: support for Lend with Care to enable entrepreneurs to start projects and small business enterprises, £170; purple crocus corms for planting by school children and to raise awareness of End Polio Now, £240.
    • Rotary Club of Edinburgh: support for a Rotary Children’s Fun Day for special needs children and their carers, £1,045.
    • Rotary Club of Galashiels & District: coached sessions, wet suits and equipment to promote open water safety awareness in disadvantaged young people, £825.
    • Rotary Club of Grangemouth: office equipment for Clinical Nurse Specialists at Strathcarron Hospice, £1,045.
    • Rotary Club of Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Traquair: school desks for Thondwe Primary school, Malawi, £450.
    • Rotary Club of Kilsyth: building materials for a vocational training workshop in Uphill Junior School, Uganda, £1,045.
    • Rotary Club of Kirkcudbright: support for the Guatemala Literacy Project to improve education for underserved school students, £520; provision of tourist and local attraction signposting, £520.
    • Rotary Club of Linlithgow Grange: support for First Step, Linlithgow’s community café for those affected by poor mental health and addiction issues, £570
    • Rotary Club of Lomond: signage for local defibrillators, many of which are not recorded on the appropriate databases, £772
    • Rotary Club of Longniddry & District: with Pennypit Trust, provision of food parcels and gifts for vulnerable families, £695
    • Rotary Club of North Berwick: with the local authority and North Berwick Trust, repair and refurbishment of a dilapidated community shelter, £1,045
    • Rotary Club of Penicuik: bicycles and safety equipment for use by children and families at Rachel House Children’s Hospice, £485; planters for the garden at Parkhead Lodge facility for the homeless, £462.
    • Rotary Club of Tranent: winter clothing for children through Carefree Kids, £ 345; purple crocus corms for planting by school and community groups and raising awareness of End Polio Now, £55; support for the KidsOut Toy Box appeal for vulnerable and disadvantaged children, £170
    • E-Club of the West of Scotland: therapeutic horticultural sessions for bereaved parents at Robin House Children’s Hospice, £170
    • Rotary Club of Whitburn: teaching and learning materials for Sadasarana Pre-school in Colombo, Sri Lanka, £ 310; reusable sanitary pads and workshops on menstrual health awareness, Ogun State, Nigeria, £345
