District Governor

Fellow Rotarians and friends,

It is a privilege to take on the mantle of District Governor for 2026/27 for this amazing District of Scotland South..

Rotary is much more than an organisation - it is a family of people who see challenges as opportunities and who believe that, together, we can create lasting impact. Every project we undertake, every young person we mentor, every community we support, and every act of kindness we perform reflects the values that unite us.

As District Governor, my goal is to support and empower every club in our district. Every club is unique, with its own strengths, traditions, and opportunities. My role is not to tell clubs what to do, but to listen, encourage, and help them succeed. Together, we can strengthen membership, develop future leaders, expand our service, and ensure that every Rotarian feels valued and inspired.

We also have an opportunity to share the story of Rotary more effectively, and this will be a focus throughout the coming year. Across our communities, people are looking for ways to make a difference. By telling our stories, inviting others to join us, and demonstrating the impact of our work, we can grow Rotary and extend our reach to those who need us most.

The year ahead will undoubtedly bring challenges, but Rotary has always been at its best when we work together. When we collaborate, support one another, and embrace innovation while remaining true to our values, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

With that in mind I also want to thank the team for 2026/27. Effective Assistant Governors and Team Leads are essential to the smooth working of a District, and we have an exceptional team who work well together and with clubs.

I look forward to visiting clubs and meeting Rotarians across the district, learning from your experiences, and celebrating your successes. Together, we will continue building stronger clubs, stronger communities, and a stronger Rotary. 

Thank you once again for this incredible honour. I am excited for the journey ahead, and I look forward to working alongside each of you as we continue to create a positive and lasting impact in the world.
