50th Anniversary

The Club will in June of this year be celebrating the 50^th anniversary of the awarding of its Charter in June 1976. The celebration will take the form of a Dinner in the new Rocks & Wheels centre in the former Dalbeattie Primary School building. The purpose of the Dinner has been extended to a celebration of the spirit of voluntary commitment to the community demonstrated by many individuals and organisations over this period. To this end, many of these individuals and representatives of the organisations will be the club’s guests at the function which will be attended by 100+. Speakers will include the Lord Lieutenant of the Stewartry and Dame Barbara Kelly who is not only Patron of the Rocks & Wheels project but whose father was a former headteacher of the Primary School and who did herself receive her early education there.
