Lego Exhibitors, model builders and lego products stand together with a building competition

As part of our LEGO Exhibition we are again running runnning a LEGO model building competition
The theme for all models being entered is '
The Football World Cup'.

This contest will be for 3 age groups

Age categories are:
Category 1 - aged 5 to 7
Category 2 - aged 8 to 11
Category 3 - aged 12 to 16

1. Models must not be wider than 48x48 studs (or 38cm x 38cm) and no higher than 38 cm with all parts, including the base, constructed entirely from official LEGO elements.  The model must be the design and work of the participant and not a copy from any instructions of either existing sets or sets no longer in produced, or from models produced by someone else (e.g. on the internet).  The model must not be glued or contain any LEGO elements that have been cut, altered or defaced.

2. All models should follow these guidelines:
* Be Child Safe / Appropriate - entries should be of models appropriate for children
* Avoids restricted content - the model should not include any content that (either deliberately or inadvertently) promotes violence.  For example, weapons, depictions of conflict or violence, or cruelty to others
* Avoid licensed products (e.g. Star Wars, Super Mario, Disney)

3.The model must be brought in with the child or young person who designed and constructed it.  Adults are requested to avoid from contributing to the design or build of the model and are asked to respect that the decision of the judge is final.

4.The competition offers no cash alternative and the legal guardian of the child / young person taking part is the only person who can agree to the rules and submit an entry in their behalf.

5.The judge might want to ask questions about the models construction in order to aid judging, so it may be required that the builder be questioned about the build.

(Note, entries not complying with these rules will result in disqualification)

To enter you will need to bring along your own model to the event. With a legal guardian you need to register the model (a title / description of the model, a name of the builder, a contact number, and the age group for the entry), this is to be done on the day of the event.  It will then go on display for the duration of the event.

Apart from entry to the event, there is no charge for your submission.

The judge will be Robert Clarkson, an experienced LEGO builder who is co-hosting the event.  He has told us: "I want to see well designed, sturdy models that show the creativity and skill of the builder.  What will really influence me is interpreting the theme into LEGO bricks".

All submissions must abide to the above rules.  The models will be displayed throughout the day of the event and the winning models will be announced at 15:30, when the prizes will be given out.  All models and prizes are to be collected after 15:30.
