Young Photographer of Mann Competition 2025 Winners

This week we celebrated the creative skills of young photographers on the island with Alicia Kiernan being the overall winner with a photo entitled "Castletown Beach".

The 12 winning entries will all appear in a 2026 Calendar which the club is selling to raise funds for charities and good causes. Copies of the calendar will soon be available to buy for £6 each from local retail outlets:

  • Ye Old Bakery, Ballasalla
  • S&S Motors, Castletown
  • Conister Bank, Douglas
  • Falcon's Nest Hotel, Port Erin
  • Chrystals, Douglas
  • Good Health Store, Port Erin
  • Newby & Padley Opticians, Port Erin

The other winners who will have photos in the calendar are
Molly Hinds, Matilda Bird-McGowan, Morgan Curphey, Oscar Morton, Oskar Hoffmann, Zoe Kirk,  Iva Petrova, and Matthew Coates.

We received 121 entries from 26 young photographers, submitting photos that reflected the “Moods of Mann”.  Yet again the entries were of a particularly high quality. We had some fabulous submissions, reflecting both the ability and imagination of our Island’s young photographers but also reminding us what a wonderful place we live in!

Each photo appearing in the calendar wins £50 for the young photographers.  And thanks to generous sponsorship from Kelproperties the overall winner received a prize of £500.

We would like to thank our two judges - Ron Strathdee and Andrea Thrussell and Rushen Captain of the Parish Paul Costain who presented the prizes to the winners.

The whole venture would not have been possible without the support of many people – Rotarians and Inner Wheelers from across the Island, our two judges, teachers from our secondary schools and –importantly – our sponsors:
• Conister Bank
• Ramsey Crookall
• Atla Group
• Kelproperties
• MJC Guitars
• Dandara
• Falcons Nest
• Crowe
• Heron & Brearley
• Manx Citizens Advice Service
