A message from Tony Beckett – District Youth Projects Leader
It is with considerable regret that I have to announce that both the R.Y.L.A. course and the International Summer Camp have been cancelled. We received an email yesterday from the head of centre at Petty Pool that they were unable to contract sufficient staff to manage the candidates and therefore were not going to run the courses, The courses were taking place at the height of the summer when demand for instructors was very high.
Both P.D.G. Eric Cowcill and I have liaised extensively with Petty Pool and are very sad that this situation has resulted. I have tried to find another centre who could deliver R.Y.L.A. for us but their cost p.p. was £100 more.
Therefore I have to inform you that this year neither event will take place.
