SNAPPED’ - WINNING ENTRIES IN YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHER COMPETITION

Sixteen-year-old Irlam and Cadishead Academy student Asher Owens (pictured) is the winner of the District 1285 Rotary Senior Young Photographer of the year Competition for 2023 and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Irlam.

Umaynah Bhaloda, age 13, from the Sharples School in Bolton (sponsored by Bolton with le Moors Rotary Club), won the District 1285 Intermediate Category, with both going forward to the Rotary National Young Photographer Finals.

On the theme of ‘Architectural Beauty’ Umaynah and Asher’s entries were some of several fantastic and to be honest stunning images to be entered into the competition from schools around the 1285 District.
Asher said, “I have always had a love and interest in architecture, especially older buildings with beautiful glass windows and stunning stonework. I would like to one day work as an architect.”

Rotarian Bill McLaughlin said, “We had some great entries for our ‘Rotary Young Photographer Competition’, and we now wish Umaynah Bhaloda, and Asher Owens every success with the judges in the National Competition after winning the District 1285 Final. It just goes to show what brilliant and talented young people we have.”
