Ian Cochrane - DG 26/27
I live in Stalybridge with my parter Susan, who is also a member of Dukinfield & Stalybridge Rotary Club.
I worked at Tameside Council for over 40 years and worked my way up to Head of Democratic Services before being appointed Town Manager. Took early retirement in 2015.
I was Chair of Governors with 2 local Primary Schools for over 19 years until I stepped down in July 2023 to free up time to allow me to focus on my District Governor journey.
Since “retiring” I have been an active community volunteer including Organising Secretary for Stalybridge Carnival and supporting a local foodbank and numerous local projects. Particularly proud of setting up the Stalybridge Friday Afternoon Social in 2021 as we emerged from Covid – and which is still going strongly.
