Laura & Reece are Top of the Pops !
This year, the Young Musician District Final was held at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on Sunday 17th February. Twenty youngsters took part from over the West of Scotland and a variety of instruments were on show with the youngsters playing everything from the Oboe through to the Tenor Saxophone. It was an afternoon full of winners.
Their performances gave the judges a most difficult task but in a very closely fought contest Reece McInroy sponsored by Kilmarnock Rotary won the Vocal section and Laura Ayoub sponsored by Charing Cross Rotary won the Instrumental section. Both will now go forward to the All Scotland & North of England Regional heat on Sunday 7th April at Newbattle Abbey College, Midlothian and the winner there qualifies for the UK Final on Saturday 4th May in Dartford, Kent.
