Several clubs undertake regular or annual litter picks in their area, sometimes with the help of friends of Rotary or other organsiations.  Two such clubs are Cockermouth and Church & Oswaldtwistle.

In February 2025 several Rotarians from Church & Oswaldtwistle spent one and half hours in the Tinkerbrook woodland clearing litter and other larger items of rubbish, collecting around 15 bags which were left for the council to remove.

This is not only good for the environment but also makes the woodland a pleasant place for walkers.  Rotary works in partnership with Hyndburn Borough Council who are undertaking improvement work to the pathways to make it more enjoyable for locals.
