New Rotary Fun Day

This is a new Rotary GB&I Youth Programme that includes a Fun Day out in June and also the Rotary Christmas Toy Box initiative.

The aims are to increase the number of under privileged children and Young Carers having the opportunity of a great day out or experience.  Under the previous programme in 2024 just over 27,000 youngsters had a great time, can we make it over 30,000 children in 2025?

Every Refuge, Every Child aims for individual Rotary Christmas Toy Boxes to be delivered to over 5,600 children who will be living in a Domestic Violence Refuge this Christmas (2024).

History

For over 30 years National Rotary KidsOut Day was supported by the KidsOut Charity, however Rotary GB&I is now working with the Kids in Mind Charity for this annual event.  This will enable Rotary to take a more pro-active approach, whilst also allowing the KidsOut Charity to explore new avenues too.

How the projects will work

The annual day is based around the second Wednesday in June ie 11 June 2025, but this date is flexible.

The Rotary Children’s Fun Day is being supported by the  Kids in Mind  Charity providing a subsidy directly to Rotary Clubs of £5.00 for every child sponsored by the Club.

Rotary Christmas Toy Box initiative 2024 is also being faciliated by Kids in Mind so that every child residing in a refuge might receive a Christmas Toy.  The charity is providing Domestic Refuge Data, identifying where, and how many children will be residing there at Christmas, enabling Clubs to provide Every Refuge, Every Child with a Rotary Christmas Toy Box.

Further details

Meetings and Seminar Presentations about the projects can be arranged face to face or on-line via Zoom.  Further details and resources can be found on the members only side of the Rotary GB&I website.  Members will need to log in using their My Rotary account.
