Over the years Annette’s career took several pathways, being involved in the family business for many years, followed by a role as school librarian in an inner-city school. When she moved to Scotland, she became a University academic librarian. As her career developed she moved Universities holding positions as law librarian, research support librarian and repository manager. In 2019 Annette moved into research services at The University of Central Lancashire (as it was then) to manage the open research team. Annette retired from that role in 2025.
Annette has been a Rotarian for 20+ years and has transferred Clubs during her career moves. She has held various roles; Foundation Chair, Press Secretary and Secretary and was actively involved in numerous projects and activities. On moving to Preston, she joined Leyland Rotary and was their President in 2018-2019 and 2020-2021. Annette was an Assistant Governor between 2021-25 and is honoured to become District Governor in 2026-27. She is keen to see Rotary in action in the District and would love to be invited to attend events and assist with projects as well as attending meetings and any celebrations or Charters. Annette is committed to Service above Self but also believes that Rotary is about Fellowship too.
