Join club members and volunteers in planting 4,000 Crocus bulbs on Hampton Village Green
Help your local Rotary Club raise awareness of the End Polio Now campaign by planting 4,000 crocus bulbs on Hampton Village Green.
In conjunction with the London Borough of Richmond’s initiative to create more Pollination Stations across the borough, we have elected to plant our purple crocuses in this newly designated space this year.
All are welcome to join us in planting bulbs that will create a carpet of purple on one side of the green in the spring, highlighting the international ambition of Rotary to finally see the end of this terrible disease.
The new Pollination Station will be postioned inside the yellow circles as shown here. The borough is creating these sites to:
- Increase habitat for pollinators
- Increase the biodiversity of flora and fauna
- Reduce our carbon footprint
- Improve air quality
These areas will have a reduced maintenance plan to allow for growth of wildflowers etc. and will only be cut twice a year. A perfect location for our Crocus display.
