Race against Dementia

A presentation on Dementia and Reading Abbey’s AMuSED project

The presentation, given by Rotarian Fred McCrindle OBE and Rachel McCrindle Emeritus Professor University of Reading, outlines information on some of the most common types of dementia and many of the key issues faced by those who are living with this disease.

The Rotary Club of Reading Abbey has been working with The University of Reading and the Reading Dementia Friends Steering Group to develop a portable therapy toolkit that can be used by caregivers, care teams and activity coordinators to engage and stimulate people who are affected by dementia.

During the presentation they will demonstrate AMuSED therapy (Active Multi-Sensory Environment for people living with Dementia) and how the project is being delivered and being used in local care environments.
