Peter Ballard, Misbourne Matins Rotary, 7th December 2022

On the 2nd September the Rotary Clubs of Misbourne Matins and Gerrards Cross & Chalfont St Peter organised charity golf match.

104 golfers participated in teams of four at Gerrards Cross Golf Club on a beautiful sunny afternoon. This was followed by dinner, prizegiving , and a charity auction conducted by local celebrity Trevor Kent.

Together with donations, sponsorship by local firms, and a raffle £12,000.00 was raised in support of the following three charities: The Ruth Strauss Foundation, the International Rotary Fellowship of Healthcare Professionals and Workaday.

John Philips, Chair of the International Rotary Fellowship of Healthcare Professionals has said that he is delighted with the continued support from Rotary clubs across the Thames Valley:

"The need in Ukraine continues. We hear every week from our medical colleagues in Ukraine how they are working under very difficult conditions and how we can help. I am very grateful for the support from Rotary clubs across the globe."

Club members also organised a concert for Ukraine. From the Facebook post on 21st October:

"Thanks to everyone who came to or supported our Ukraine Benefit Concert, particularly, Well Oiled, Gerrards Cross Community Association,  Karen Dickson and The Hub and fellow Rotarians from Jordans and Marlow Thames Rotary Clubs.  Besides being a fabulous evening, much enjoyed by our Ukrainian guests, thanks to your generous donations over £1000 was raised to help support their needs.

Don't miss the picture of President Geoff in his Ukrainian yellow trousers!"
