Introduction to Peach

Peach promotes Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention and helps parents of children with autism by providing support, information and choice.

Peach was started in the Spring of 1996 by a group of parents who were using home based early intervention to help their autistic children.

Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) programmes focus on communication, social and emotional skills, as well as enhancing academic skills.  This enables children to take better advantage of the social and educational opportunities available in their communities and require less support as they grow older.

Peach has a completely different remit from the National Autistic Society (NAS) as we focus on early years support and provision.

Peach The Charitable Organisation - Supporting Parents and raising awareness of autism

  • Producing a range of information leaflets.
  • Running an advice line which gives advice about ABA programmes, diagnosis and other issues.
  • Providing information and guidance on obtaining support from Local Education Authorities (LEAs).
  • Providing practical assistance with preparing cases for special needs tribunals which establish educational needs.
  • Publishing a bi-monthly newsletter Speach, this contains information from members, good practice amongst ABA providers, developments in research and highlights the achievements of children with autism..
  • Organising a parent to parent helpline so parents can talk to other parents.
  • Hosting conferences and running a broad range of ABA training courses.
  • Lobbying government at all levels.

Peach the ABA service provider -  providing training and raising awareness of autism

Peach has nine ABA clinical staff based throughout the UK working with families delivering home-based ABA programmes.  Peach's two Clinical Managers have a combined experience of over 20 years and ensure consistency and quality of service.

Peach Clinical Staff also run a range of training courses for tutors and parents.  Clinical staff give talks and offer training to other professionals to raise awareness and understanding of ABA and autism.
