Tuesday 16th April saw the usual group of volunteers come together
for our second packing evening. The team was made up of Saffery
Champness staff, Rotary Guernesiais members and members of our own club.
This packing night was a little different however as our patron of the
walk Sir Ian Corder came along to help along with Lady Corder. Apart
from having the chance to meet members of the team, this also gave the
opportunity of presenting HE with a walk tee shirt for himself and his
son, who are completing the walk a week ahead of the actual date, as
they are not available on 15th June, but still wanted to support the
walk and give it as much publicity as they can.
As you can see, a lot of fun was had by all, and I would like to add special thanks to Boley Smillie, head of the Guernsey Post Office Service for not only attending on the night, but for the massive support they provide to the walk in facilitating the postage and packing of the walker packs (usually over 800).
