A lovely crisp sunny day made this years service even more special. This year we especially commemorate 100 years since the beginning of the First World War. The City remembered with respect those who lost their lives. The roads were closed, members of all the armed forces and emergency services were there amongst the many organisations represented and the Salvation Army Marching Band accompanied the service. At 11 o'clock a mortar was heard, to mark the Silence.
Cambridge, Cambridge-Rutherford and Cambridge-South Rotary Clubs banded together to lay a wreath as part of this moving event. They have also been invited to attend the Mayors Reception in the Guidhall on the evening of Friday 21st November 2014.
The ITN were present to record the moment for the evening news.
