Rotary Club members David Spashett and Howard Binks judge the efforts of
students at the 2022 Rotary Technology Challenge. This was to build device to
lift a ‘radioactive element’ (actually a tennis ball) out of a Perspex box with
a hole cut in it, without touching it with their hands, and then put the element
on a target. They were also aided by John Morton.
Very well done to all the winners, and to absolutely all of the other contestants who were such a pleasure and privilege to see trying their hardest and also having such fun !
Jos Huddleston from the Richmond Rotary Club, whose turn it was to organise the event said, ‘What a privilege it was to work with such visionary and resilient students, and also Rotarians from all the clubs, and Staff from REME, who had all worked hard, and with considerable expertise to make the event happen.’
The event was hosted once again by The REME at Catterick Garrison, and we all extend our thanks to them for their superb hosting of the event
