Public Image Grants 2020-21
Guidance
The D1040 February 2020 Council meeting decided to make £10,000 available for the Public Image grants. Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis. There will be no extension of funding once all funding has been allocated.
D1040 Clubs or Zones will be able to apply for a match funded sum of up to and including £500 per application. Zones can include several clubs in a geographical area which could be in a town or city. A Zone may also include an Assistant Governor Area.
Take care with any copyright issues. If in any doubt, clubs should use their own photographs, text, and our RI branding.
Assessment Criteria
1. It is expected the funds will assist in providing goods and / or services to support a club or clubs project(s) but, at the same time, promote the Rotary ideals in their community and assist in telling communities how their support can aid, and has aided, projects at home and abroad. In other words, telling the Rotary story to the general public.
2. Grants could be designed to help out a club or clubs reach out to new areas of the communities that are not represented by current membership or projects.
3. This support is aimed at new activities to give ‘new’ impact, not ‘historic repeat’ projects. However, this will not exclude initiatives to ‘revitalise’ old and tired display materials that do not meet the current RI branding guidelines.
4. It will be the club or zone’s responsibility to ensure that the display materials are ‘impactful’, send the correct message and meet the latest RI Voice and Visual Identity Guidelines published in December 2019.
5. It is expected that messages should be generic, whenever possible, enabling the materials to be further used by other clubs and / or projects.
