Keep your Rotary pages safe!

On Facebook / Instagram -

If you've not already done so for Club pages, you might want to look at this link (below) and register your club.  Meta (the company behind Facebook & Instagram) are quite reasonably trying to crack down on pages / groups which allude to representing companies & organisations fraudulently.  The easy way for Meta to find such pages is to search out organisations' logos and key words used.  If they see logos or trademarked names are being used incorrectly, they'll quite often shutdown the page .... and as some clubs have already experienced, resurrecting it again is quite the headache if at all possible

This link is submitting your club's Facebook / Instagram details to the RI Social Media team - so if queried by Meta, they should know that your page is legit.

This would also be a good time to check the use of branding on your page, to make that process easier.  If you use a Rotary logo e.g. as your "profile picture", double-check on the branding guidelines that it's correct.

You might also want to take a moment to check who your "admins" are - and more importantly that you still know them & trust them, and that they still have an active facebook / instagram account.  Again, this is really critical for continuity of your Club page - if one admin is "locked out" of their own account, or is unavailable (particularly in the long-term), you don't want to lose access to a Club page through only having one admin.  My suggestion would be to have 3 - you can of course share the tasks of maintaining the social media accounts between a few of you, but at a minimum make sure at least a couple of people maintain admin rights even if only one of you is the Chief Social Media Fairy for your club.
