Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I am sure that you will have seen the welcome news of the ceasefire in Gaza, a long-awaited moment of hope after more than two years of relentless conflict. The release of hostages and some Palestinian detainees mark a significant step forward, but the humanitarian crisis is far from over. Hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza remain displaced and urgently need shelter and other essential items.
ShelterBox has tents in Amman, Jordan, ready for people to use. If the ceasefire holds and broad humanitarian access opens up, this shelter can reach the families who need it most. ShelterBox is committed to doing as much as they can and is working on a plan, but this remains an extremely challenging response.
A donation from your club can support the ongoing response in Gaza as ShelterBox looks to scaling-up their efforts to provide emergency shelter for those who so desperately need it. If the ongoing Gaza response becomes fully funded, your club's dedicated donation will provide life-saving support to the people affected by this disaster. Yours in Rotary and as ever,
Kerr
