New Public Image Lead

"Hi" from our new District Public Image lead Michelle

Hi … I’m Michelle McCombie and will try to fill the shoes of Steve Rowan as District Public Image (PI) Lead, who I’m pleased to say will remain on our team.

I’ve been a member of Ellon Rotary since 2019 where I’ve been looking after our social media for a few years now and was also International & Foundation convener this past Rotary year. In my 20s I had been a member of Ellon Rotaract Club, where I made some great, long-standing friendships.

For work, I’ve been in the offshore helicopter industry primarily in Aberdeen for almost 27 years.  I’m currently a Commercial Manager responsible for tendering and contract management.

That means I’m not any kind of marketing / branding / image specialist to trade  …. Nor am I the greatest IT / tech guru …. But I have got a genuine interest in helping us promote Rotary to those we support, those who support us and those who could be part of this great organisation as new members.  Acknowledging however that “Rotary” looks different to all of us, whilst at the same time being so similar.

I look forward to meeting more Rotarians in the District in coming months.  Please get in touch if there’s anything PI-related you want to chat about. If your Club PI rep isn’t already part of it, do ask to join our WhatsApp group where everyone is happy to share ideas and ask for advice or help.
