Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick has shared a powerful message. She announced that the 2024-25 presidential theme is The Magic of Rotary and called on members to recognize and amplify the organisation's power to save lives. “It’s up to you. You create the magic with every project completed, every dollar donated, and every new member.”Stephanie will be visiting our District from 11th to 13th June and there will be a Celebration Dinner on June 12th. As we celebrate 120 years of Rotary service on 23rd February, which is also celebrated as World Understanding and Peace Day, it is a perfect time to reflect on Rotary’s tireless commitment to peace and doing good in our local communities and all around the world. Since being founded by Paul Harris in Chicago in 1905, we’ve almost eradicated polio, we’ve trained peacebuilders, supported education for millions. Every single day our network of 1.4 million changemakers across the globe are transforming lives, bringing people together and making a difference in our communities. DISTRICT YOUTH COMPETITIONS
District Youth Competitions for Young Musician, Young Chef, and Youth Speaks were all held on Saturday February 15th and attracted some very talented participants....
The Young Musician competition was held at All Saints Church Porthcawl and won by Bailey Buckley (instrument) and Isobel Meechan (vocal)
The Young Chef competition was held at Mary Immaculate High School Wenvoe and won by Lena
The Youth Speaks competition was held at Queen Elizabeth High School Llansteffan. Winners of the Senior competition were Queen Elizabeth High School Carmarthen. Internediate winners were St John Lloyd's, Llanelli.

Thank you to Rotary in Southern Wales and several clubs from our Cluster that sponsored young people to attend one of the three courses held at the Storey Arms, Brecon. Special thanks must go to Rob Fry and Hayley Ridge-Evans for organising the three courses and the staff at the Storey Arms, who pulled out all the stops to work with these young people to develop their leadership skills.
