On Monday 28 September, Witney Rotary welcomed Greg Birdseye, Sobell House trustee and charity
ambassador, to Richmond Villages Witney.
Greg spoke about the personal connection that brought him to Sobell House and the care the hospice gives to people and families in Oxfordshire. In its 50th anniversary year, it was a moving reminder of why local support matters.
The evening’s raffle raised £320. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes, bought tickets and made our guests so welcome.
Now we have a chance to turn that support into action. On Saturday 3 October, Witney Rotary volunteers will be collecting for Sobell House in Witney town centre, with Windrush Radio joining us. Look out for our gazebo, stop for a conversation and please contribute if you can.
Sobell House is President David Connolly’s chosen charity for his Rotary year. Saturday’s collection is one part of our continuing support, which will also see David take on the Witney Rotary Firewalk in aid of Sobell House on 19 March 2027.
