Rotary members working on the flat-pack sports equipment to be used when training Tenderfoot Disabled Athletes Teams later in the year.

Men at Work

The Rotary Club of Saundersfoot have recently purchased two new pieces of sports equipment to use when training the Tenderfoot teams in the Autumn in preparation for their entry into the Wales Disabled Sports Competition in November.  For several years training has been held at Tenby Leisure Centre, but with the opening of the new Regency Hall Community Centre in Saundersfoot, it was decided to relocate training to the new main hall there. This meant two key pieces of equipment needed to be bought and with the support of a Community Chest grant from Sport Wales we have obtained a table-tennis table and basketball net with backboard.  The table-tennis table will also be made available for use by the youth group which will be set up in the hall.

Recently a number of (able)-bodied club members turned up at the hall to inspect the pieces of kit, to find they were flat-pack!  Armed with state-of-the-art tools, provided by Club Secretary Charles, the team set about unpacking, checking and constructing the equipment.  Photographs show the studied concentration of the members as we persevered with the task in hand.
