The 'Sounds Fantastic' Virtual Concert will be available here from 3pm on Sunday 28th June 2020,
3pm on the 28th is the time that the actual concert would have taken place, but don't worry if you miss the premiere, - it will be available to view at any time after this.
We are extremely grateful to Mr Clive Raymond of West Wales Music who has edited and pulled together the performances into this fantastic show. Huge thanks also to all the performers, accompanists and parents for all your support. We hope you enjoy the show, We'd be delighted to receive your comments after the show. Please leave your comments using the 'comment' section at the foot of this page.
You'll not be surprised to read that the Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club are unable to sponsor their annual Sounds Fantastic concert at Rhos-y-Gilwen due to the LockDown measures that are still l in place on 28 June. However, with the help of Clive Raymond, of West Wales Music, we have preapered a "Virtual" version of the concert instead.
Sounds Fantastic is a not a competition. It was launched several years ago to provide an opportunity for talented young musicians to perform for a paying audience. This year, our performers have pre-recorded their pieces. A video compilation is being produced and will be available, free of charge, for viewing online via this website from 3pm on the 28 June onwards. We hope that you’ll take a look at our website and download the link to watch the video which will be approximately 60 minutes long.
We’d like you to assist us with our publicity by telling all your friends and family about this virtual concert. Hopefully this will result in our young musicians having a larger and more widely spread audience than usual. Previous Sounds Fantastic performers have progressed their musical careers to professional standard so there are likely to be some names that we should look out for in the future!!
And, while you are visiting www.nwrotary.co.uk, we hope that you’ll support our Virtual Duck Race (another first) by buying ducks at £1 each. The Duck Race will take place on Friday 31st July. Proceeds will benefit Paul Sartori and other charitable causes supported by Rotary. Prize winners will be notified as soon as possible after the race. For those of you reading this beyond Pembrokeshire’s boundaries, the Paul Sartori Foundation is the county’s only “Hospice at Home” Service, established for those with a life limiting illness and founded in memory of its namesake Father Paul Sartori.
Thank you for your support of our activities and our fund raising efforts, more important this year than ever before, to support our charitable causes.
Elaine Bradbury 2019/20 President and Chris Williams 2020/21 President
