CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES 2018 involving our Rotakids Clubs

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES 2018
Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club joined Meidrim RotaKids to sing to the elderly residents of Dol-y-Felin St Clears last week. President Tony Ensom gave thanks to Rotarian Ann Claus for organising the day. This is why the Rotary Club members raise money so they can make a difference in the Community.

Recently the Narberth RotaKids entertained the LMG group by making Christmas Cards together. They also raised £160 towards the effort to rid the world of Polio. They also made a donation for the Children in Need appeal. Past President Mary Adams suggested to club members to pay for a bus to take 20 of the RotaKids  to go to Cardiff Motorpoint for their Xmas treat. This was supported unanimously by the members.
They were lucky enough to get Elf Pantomime tickets to go to Cardiff Motorpoint which starred David Essex and  Martine McCutcheon both of whom looked amazing. The tickets were donated by the Kids out Charity.
The Head Teacher Mrs. Ward said the children had a wonderful time and were buzzing with excitement all the way home.
The President gave grateful thanks to Kids Out Charity for donating the tickets and also to Narberth Travel for giving a good discount to the Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club who paid for the bus for them to go.
The children have worked hard for the Living Memory Group, Raised Money and Awareness to End Polio and have collected money for BBC Children in Need this year.

In early December the Narberth Primary School premiered their Annual Nativity Play to an invited audience consisting of members of the Living Memories Group (LMG). It was a contemporary production telling the tale of the birth of Jesus but performed with a modern twist.
On the stage in the School Hall three pupils acted as comperes and interviewed the "stars of the show". Each act in the show contained up to a dozen characters ranging from the stable scene with Mary & Joseph; a troupe of laden camels and the three wise men and, a scene with nasty King Herod and his henchmen suitably dressed as mafia henchmen in the modern interpretation.

The play was well received by the Audience who were treated after the show top Tea and Mince Pies served by a teacher and some of her very helpful and Polite pupils. Mrs. Nia Ward summed up the involvement of the older Generation OF Rotarians and the LMG stating that the interaction with the young members of the school was a key part in their National educational curriculum. Being involved in community activities is a key part of developing  communication skills She then invited President Tony Ensom to present a new intake of RotaKids with their "badges of membership".
