Secondary School pupils from Ysgol Dyffryn Taf and Ysgol y Preseli attended the annual and enjoyable Public Speaking competition organised by the Rotary Club Of Narberth & Whitland. The event, held at Plas Hyfryd Hotel was well attended by parents, teachers and Rotarians on Wednesday 7th November.
All of the teams performed well and the speakers gave comprehensive answers to a question posed to each of them by one of the many Rotarians present. There are three members in each team in the two sections of the competition ably and enthusiastically organised by Rotary Committee Chairperson Mrs Barbara Rumbold.
Team number 5 from Ysgol y Preseli won the Intermediate Section and Team 2 from Dyffryn Taf won the Senior competition.
In the Senior Section, Grace Kind won best Chairperson, Lani Hogben best speaker and Cerys Burns best vote of thanks. All of these pupils were from Preseli but in two different teams.
Sophia Garrison-Davies won the best Chairperson in the Intermediate section. Of the two pupils from Ysgol y Preseli the best Speaker was Fflur James and the best vote of thanks Manon John. that a total of £180 was paid out in prizes to the various winners.

The winning teams go forward to the Pembrokeshire Area final to be held in January and further rounds will select the best in South Wales, The Midlands and South West of England and South Wales and then a National final next year
