The members of The Narberth & Whitland Rotary Club are having a busy summer during holiday period.
On Saturday at Whitland Town Carnival Rotarians were in force to help the Carnival Committee collect the money at the Entrance to Parc Dr Owen. There was a great atmosphere in the town. Narberth & Whitland Rotarians were up early to erect the Rotary marquee and selling raffles. The Chair of Community, Ian Gravell had the duty of driving the Carnival President Wyn Calvin in the parade. Rotarians are People of Action - Helping out in our Communities.
Meidrim RotaKids sponsored by the Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club<https://www.facebook.com/NarberthAndWhitlandRotaryClub/?fref=mentions> are recycling their Plastic Bottles to make an Eco Greenhouse. What a great thing to do in the fine weather of the summer.
Team work is essential in Communities. Recently a Tripartite meeting was held in Narberth between The Rotary Club, Round Table and 41 Club. Therese three clubs have agreed to work together to provide a pool of volunteers to assist in Community projects when required.
On Friday 10th August the annual Duck Race, BBQ, Pig Roast and Vegetarian Stalls will be at Cresswell Quay, courtesy of the Evans Brothers, Landlords at the Cresselly Arms. The event is always held when there is a high tide so spectators will see a flotilla of small sailing and motor boats anchoring at the harbour wall for a couple of hours. The BBQ starts at 6pm.
Later in the summer the Narberth & Whitland members are hosting the Rotary Ride 2018 in aid of Prostate Cancer and Tenovus. This is a fun ride for all the family. Cyclists have the choice of three routes for a 10, 27 or 50 mile ride which starts at Bloomfield Community Centre and finishes at The Cresselly Arms, Cresswell Quay where a 2 course buffet will be served.
