The Club was pleased to welcome Janet Farthing to a recent Zoom meeting.
Neville, who died earlier in the year, was a past President of the Club which he joined when he and Janet moved to Llantwit Major more than 20 years ago. They moved from Taunton where Neville had been President of the Taunton Vale Rotary Club.
President Geoff Jones spoke of the great support Janet had given over the years both to Neville and to the Club. In recognition of all she had done the Club had applied for and was awarding Janet a Paul Harris Fellowship. This is the highest award that Rotary confers to recognise support for its ideal “Service above Self”.
He also said that the Club was very pleased to offer Janet Honorary Membership and looked forward to seeing her when Club meetings resume in person.
Geoff was able to present the award subsequently in person in his garden.
