The Rotary Club of Llantwit Major was formed in 1981 and is a member of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (Rotary GB&I). Rotary International is over one hundred years old and forms a global network of business, professional and community leaders. Rotary GB&I, is an association of Rotary clubs in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland comprising of one thousand eight hundred and fifty clubs made up of men and women from a wide range of backgrounds, who use their time and talent to serve both domestic and international communities. As Rotarians we are part of the largest humanitarian service organisation in Great Britain and Ireland for people who want to make a better world.
Like most Rotary clubs we meet weekly and enshrine the principles of Rotary; being a non-political, non-religious, organisation open to all cultures, races, and creeds. As a club, we are pleased to accept members who can contribute their time, talents, professional skills and energy to improving the lives of people in their local communities and others around the world.
Our informal approach leads to an atmosphere which engenders fun and fellowship. It is also an ideal opportunity to increase your circle of friends and also possibly learn a new skill. Membership of the club is offered as three categories, Full or Associate membership, or as a Friend of the club.
