At the Llantwit Major Christmas Lights festivities on Saturday 30th November, members from the Rotary Club demonstrated a Shelter Box to the many locals and visitors present. Shelterbox is the product of an international charity founded in 2000 in the Cornish Town of Helston. With support from Rotary International and its network of Rotary clubs, the charity has been able to provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters, at the time when they need it the most. Since the year 2000 Shelterbox has responded to over two hundred natural or manmade disasters in around ninety countries.
