On 17 March 2014 the club had one of its partner nights at the West House Hotel, Llantwit Major. The guest speaker was the Rev. Malcolm Davies who entertained the club to a series of anecdotes about hats. Malcolm is originally from Aberdare but later in life took holy orders and became Rector of Llancarfan. He is now retired but finds himself in demand from organisations who wish to hear more about his experiences with hats. We saw a recent Jubilee fun hat, police helmets, an Australian outback hat, ecclesiastical hats, a pith helmet and an old scout hat to name but a few.
