We enjoyed our visit this excellent hospice, seeing the wonderful gardens and meeting the patients, and the nurses and doctors who care for them.
The tea and delicious cakes was a lovely introduction whilst we listened to stories about the development of the gardens from what appeared to be a car park. We were impressed that so much has been achieved in just a couple of years through the dedication and expertise of the gardening team and everyone else who has contributed in so many ways to its development.
Our journey around the footpaths, accompanied by very knowlegable volunteers, has created some wonderful memories. The trickling water and stone pebbles of the Stream of Memories, the fabulous tactile sculptures that greet you from every dimension. The atmosphere is so peaceful, surrounded of course by the beautiful planting with trees, grasses and flowers attracting hundreds of bees and butterflies. The Woodland Area is a big challenge and hopefully we can return in the future to see how it has developed.
