KNIGHTON ROTARY SUPPORTS THE BRACKEN TRUST
CANCER SUPPORT CENTRE
Members of the Knighton Rotary Club visited the Bracken Trust in Llandrindod Wells at the end of May. We enjoyed the tour of the excellent facilities that the venue provides. As Christine Price, Rotary Club Community Chair, said “We found the Cefnllys Lane main headquarters of the Trust warm and welcoming, with a lovely informal atmosphere” She added “The main aim of the Bracken Trust is to provide help for those with cancer and cancer survivors, as well as those family members who support their loved ones.”
As ………… said “All of our staff are professionally qualified and can give advice, support and information about cancer, treatments and as well as counselling services and complimentary therapies.” There also outreach hubs in Llandiloes, Llanwrtyd Wells, and Knighton. The Knighton hub currently has nurses and support staff offering advice at the Knighton Community Centre, but it is hoping to move to the Knighton Hospital in due course. The Bracken Trust is a valuable and underutilised resource for all our communities and it’s service needs to have it's praises sung!
