What an enjoyable afternoon this was!
26 members and guests turned up at Nick's Knighton home for what was an excellent, and not very frugal lunch. We were happy to welcome guests Jack, Ann and Heather...good to see you all.
Nick singlehandedly made mackeral pate with toast as a starter and cottage pie with mash peas for main course. Everyone was full by the end of the lunch with plenty left for seconds. Many thanks Nick for all your efforts and thanks to everyone's generosity we raised £179 for our community charity account.
The other, and even more important thing, was that we were finally able to welcome Di Cosgrove formally to the Knighton and District Rotary Club.
Chris R introduced Di to the club, Adam read out the Objects of Rotary and President Margaret presented Di with her Rotary pin, name badge, Club diary and tabbard.
Di then thanked the club for their warm welcome and explained that she had been looking to join Rotary for a number of years but with her commitments in Uganda with the Red Earth educational charity it was not possible.
But the situation has now changed there and she said how much she was looking forward to making a difference, not only locally but across all the activities that our Rotary Club is involved in.
And we look forward to your involvement Di too - a very warm welcome to you from everyone in our Rotary Club!
