Our second Christmas collection at the Coop in Knighton

Tue, Dec 17th 2019 at 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

We added to the funds, raised at the beginning of the month, for our charitable efforts in the local community.

This is the press release thanking everyone for their support - we raised nearly £600 during our two collections at the Co-op store in Knighton. A great result from a generous community!

MANY THANKS FROM THE KNIGHTON AND DISTRICT ROTARY CLUB TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

On Tuesdays 3rd and 17th of December members of the Knighton and District Rotary Club collected for local charities at the Co-op store in Knighton. As Rotary President Chris Price said “We were delighted with the support for our fundraising efforts from the community of Knighton. People put their hands in their pockets as soon as they knew Rotary was collecting for charity. Their generosity, cheerfulness and friendliness was overwhelming, especially at a time of year that already makes so many demands on them.” Rotary Community Chair Nick Stimpson added “We have to thank the Co-op in Knighton for allowing us to collect over these two Tuesdays. Without their support we would not be able to be here at this time.” Rotary members were also pleased to have local Wales Air Ambulance representative Andrew Catling join them for the December 17th collection. In total just under £600 was raised for the Wales and Midlands Air Ambulances, the Knighton Food Bank and other Rotary supported local charities. Many thanks to all our supporters and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all!
