KNIGHTON ROTARY CLUB HELPS TACKLE SOCIAL ISOLATION
WITH MONTHLY TEA DANCES
As Christmas approaches many of the older residents of our community feel more and more isolated with dark nights and colder weather. With the support of Julia Roberts and KINDA (Knighton Initiative for Dementia Action), the Knighton and District Rotary Club have been holding monthly “Tea Dances”, for the community, since July. Rotary President Chris Price said “We are able to offer these events free of charge thanks to the Knighton Hospital League of Friends, who donated money to KINDA to tackle social isolation.” Julia added "Loneliness, stigma, fear and isolation is a real issue for many. Great music, great exercise, great company plus tea and cake is one way to overcome this. It is why KINDA is delighted to sponsor these Tea Dances". Everyone is warmly welcome to come along on the second Tuesday of every month with the next dance being on November 12th starting at 2pm With free entry, this is a monthly event not to miss!
