On Tuesday afternoon July 2nd Knighton and District Rotary Club welcomed representatives of 10 charities to the Reynolds Room at the Knighton Community Centre. Also present was County Councillor for Knighton, Angelique Williams.
Rotary Club President Ivan Jones presented cheques to Andrew Catling of the Wales Air Ambulance, Maria Jones of the Midlands Air Ambulance, Beverley Baynham of the East Radnorshire Day Care Centre, Julia Llewellyn-Roberts of the Knighton & East Radnor Food Bank, Matt Rising of the East Radnorshire Young Carers, Mike Pullin supporting St Michael’s Hospice, Rachael Mannachinni-Godfrey from the Hereford Breast Cancer Haven, Christabel Hargraves from the Knighton and Presteigne Leg Club, Reg Cawthorne of the Bracken Trust, Hazel Adams representing Classrooms in the Clouds (Nepal) and Nikki Davis of the 2nd Knighton Brownies.
President Ivan said “Matt Rising is spot on when he said today that all the charities here have had a positive impact on the young carers he supports, as well as their families and the communities they live in.”
President Ivan continued “Rotary members want to thank the local community for their support of our fundraising efforts. As you can see we have supported local, national and international charities, as well as funded youth leadership programmes and youth competitions. We look forward to being able to continue our close relationship with our communities in the future”.
