After the devastation caused by Cyclone Idai, Rotary club members agreed we needed to respond and, as always, we decided that our best response was to send a Rotary Shelterbox. We know that the boxes get where they are needed without local Government interference and that they provide everything needed in disaster situations. You can read more on their website.
To this end we decided to undertake collections at the Presteigne Farmers Market on April 6th and the Knighton Community Market on the 13th. At both venues we had a lot of people interested in the box which we had on display and we raised a total of £205 towards a Shelterbox to be sent out to support those in desparate need. Thank you to our volunteers and to everyone who donated to a great cause.
