Tomos Roberts, from Nevern, has won the Rotary National Junior Young Photographer competition for children aged 10 and under.
His photo of puffins on Skomer Island in Pembrokeshire won at the Junior level in the Rotary District of Southern Wales and went on to the national final for Great Britain and Ireland. He was sponsored by Haverfordwest Rotary Club.
The theme for the competition was ‘Happiness in Nature’. Tomos says, “I love puffins because they are so colourful. I took this photo when we went on a day trip to Skomer in April last year. The puffins were still pairing up and these two were rubbing their beaks together. They were happy to be back together and I was happy to see them.”
Tomos, who goes to Ysgol Eglwyswrw, was a finalist in the Rotary competition last year. He has also been successful in global photo competitions, including being a finalist in the 2025 Travel Photographer of the Year and Commended in the World Food Photography Awards 2026.
