Centenary Plaque At The Wyndham Hotel

A commemorative plaque has been installed at the Wyndham Hotel to acknowledge the 1926 dinner meeting where Rotary Bridgend's Charter was formally presented. The ceremony was attended by hotel manager Lisa Driscoll, Rotary Bridgend President Paul Cheadle and Rotarians Tony Berrow, Robin Bratton, Joan Murrell and Brian Murrell.

Although interim meetings had taken place since July 1925, Rotary Bridgend celebrated receipt of our Charter from Rotary International with a dinner at the Wyndham Hotel in Bridgend town centre on March 15, 1926. Rotary Bridgend continued to hold meetings at the Wyndham Hotel until the winter of 1958.
