Six members, Joan and Brian Murrell, Catherine and William Williams and President Paul Cheadle and his wife Carolyn, enjoyed an excellent night a Rotary Porthcawl's International Evening.
The evening started with musical entertainment by students from Porthcawl Comprehensive School who performed extracts from "West Side Story". They will be performing this in the summer and, if this evening's wonderful performance is anything to go by, it will be a very special show.
Following a supper and welcome from Rotary Porthcawl President Alison Thomas, we were treated to presentations from 16 to 18 year old students from across the world at UWC Atlantic College who gave verbal sketches of their own countries, their experiences of Wales and their aspirations. It really was a global occasion with students from Ukraine, England, India, Norway, Uganda, Germany, The Netherlands, Egypt, Vanuatu and Cyprus. Very interesting, inspiring and, at times, humorous talks.
