Junior Youth Speaks

The evening began with the deputy Headteacher Mr. Ian Davies of Tremains school, welcoming everyone and he also gave words of encouragement to the competitors.

Tremains school won last year and as is custom Mr. Davies presented the shield to  President Nominee Sonja Cain.

Rtn., Sonja Cain deputised for President Paul Cheadle who was unable to attend and she also said a few words of welcome  Sonja also gave the vote of thanks at the end of the evening.

Rotarian William Williams was the Master of Ceremonies.

The Adjudicators were Rotarians Win, Ceri Griffiths and Hopkin Joseph.

Seven schools took part in the competition and the winner was a pupil from Coety Primary School. 

The first runner up was a pupil at Tremains Primary School and the second runner up was a pupil from Plasnewydd Primary School.

Win Griffiths, Chair of the Adjudicators,  mentioned that the standard of all of the speakers was extremely high this year.

Sincere thank you to the adjudicators, Rtn Alan Reeks who was the photographer, Rtn., Caron Jones  who printed the programmes and the certificates also to all those who helped on the evening.
