Young Musician Area Competition

The Area Final of the Young Musician competition at Cowbridge School.

This evening's competition has been open to the winners from local heats organised by some of the Rotary Clubs in the Area, including Rotary Bridgend. The winners in both instrumental and vocal categories of this competition can enter the Rotary District Final in Margam Abbey on 7th February.

Sponsored by Rotary Bridgend, Elizabeth Mellows, a pupil of Brynteg School, has been studying both violin and piano. This evening Elizabeth played the 2nd Movement of Sonata in Bb (Albinoni) and Bolero No.3 (Hubay) on the violin. Despite an excellent performance, of which Elizabeth should be very proud, she was up against some very stiff competition and, unfortunately, did not make it through to the District Final this time.
