Charity Concert Supporting Friends of Monze

A wonderful concert for Rotary Bridgend’s International Team was held on Friday 10 May at Trelales Primary School, Laleston to raise funds for the Friends of Monze charity. 

The concert was by the marvellous Bridgend Male Choir, with MD Ryan Wood and accompanist Stephanie Todd, and the fantastic soprano soloist Rhian Hughes.  A huge thanks must go to the Headteacher, Mr Morrison, staff and pupils at the school for all their help, to the audience, the ladies who organised the raffle,  and everyone who contributed. 

The funds raised will buy much needed school books and desks for the children of Chicheleko school, Monze, in Zambia. 

The photos show Bridgend Male Choir and Rhian performing at the concert and, on 23 May, the President of Bridgend Rotary, Win Griffiths presenting the cheque for £1,250 to Deana Owen, chair, and Belinda Green, trustee of the charity at the Heronston Hotel.
