Breakfast Meeting at the Heronston Hotel

John McCarthy, pictured above with Julie and Mike Lewis, introdroduced Julie who gave an excellent talk about her role in a pilot scheme being run across schools in Pencoed.

The key aims of the cluster scheme are to better engage and support families of children who are at, or will be joining, schools in Pencoed.

This includes providing areas where parents and pupils can feel comfortable such as the "Cwtch" (Julie like naming places!) and even visits to parents' homes.

Julie's role in the pilot scheme is funded by the Welsh Government but providing environments and resources requires money to be raised. Rotary Bridgend were delighted to be able to present Julie with £500 towards this.

John thanked Julie for her talk, her enthusiasm for the role really shone through.
