The Headteacher and other members of staff asked whether we could help to restore these items to a useful state.
The Community team kindly took the initiative to tackle this problem and got in touch with Squirrel's Nest (Men's Shed) at Tondu with a view to obtaining new bases for the boxes. Measurements were provided, and timber ordered, with delivery organised to Tondu.
Three Members got involved in cutting off the existing wooden legs of the Planters - after emptying the boxes of the soil content! The new sturdy bases made by members of the Squirrels Nest were transported to the school and the Planters were replaced on these bases and then refilled with soil.
The photos show a collapsed planter box, a base made by the Squirrel's Nest, a very happy Headteacher and William Williams, Community team lead, with the five completed planter boxes, and a visit to the Squirrel's Nest by the President and members of the Community team to confirm a donation to them and to thank it's members for their help with the project.
