Arranged by our newest member Barrie Ball, we had a most interesting tour of the workshops and out door Stabling Sidings, led by the Garw Valley Rail Chairman Malcolm, and ably assisted by members Gordon and Barrie.
The workshops contained rolling stock made up of two working diesel engines, three refurbished carriages, a SharkBrake Van nearing completion and a steam locomotive being renovated.
At the moment there is 400m of workable track to be increased in the short term to 600m. The long term plans are to be able to reach Bryngarw Park when funding allows.
The outing finished off at the Llangeinor Arms, where everyone enjoyed an excellent meal and refreshments.
